Thought you might want to read the analysis I did on your piece in my art class. Awesome work!
“ODST by Amirzand presents depth and richness in varied value through the employment of several key elements. By focusing on the larger form on the right, we can see how the artist used numerous shades of green to both simulate a light source and build the human form from color. The value gradually intensifies from dull and almost indistinguishable near the bottom, to bright and defined at the top of the organic form, visually sculpting the form from value. This creates a fine example of “chiaroscuro”, which is to define and model a form through subtle value changes. Atmospheric perspective and positioning is then made evident by comparing the two human forms in the composition. The artist presented a second, blurry and less defined, soldier in order to create the illusion of three dimensional depth in a two dimensional image. Numerous organic shapes representing leaves further solidify the sense of depth and imply movement. Positioning is utilized, placing them at varied distances throughout the picture plane. Subtle textures are present on the larger human form, but a more clear representation can be found in the warm yellows of the dirt. This gritty quality gives the ground a familiar roughness and further supports the depth of the image. Lastly, we can see overlapping in the black organic lines jutting up from the ground on the left half of the composition. "
